Background:
A recent PhD graduate in gastroenterology and peptide
biochemistry. Currently employed at the Department of
Physiology and Anatomy of Massey University, New Zealand as a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, studying the effects of milk and
milk derived growth factors on tissue growth and cell
maturation in the gastrointestinal tract of normal and
prenatal growth retarded newborn pigs.
Major Laboratory Skills and Experiences:
Radioimmunoassay; Radio-receptor-assay; Immunocytochemistry;
Gel chromatography; Histological and morphometrical analysis;
Enzyme, protein, RNA and DNA assays; Experimental surgery.
Field of Interest:
Regulation of gastrointestinal tissue growth and cell
maturation;
Identification, purification and characterization of milk
derived growth factors;
Regulatory mechanisms of peptide hormone synthesis and
release;
Peptide receptor research (localization and characterization).
