ST402578@BROWNVM.BROWN.EDU (Zhucheng Yang) (05/22/91)
To all the potential employers out there: I am expecting my diploma in a few days here at Brown University. Although I was enrolled as a Ph.D candidate and have passed all the preliminary exams, I am interested in finding a job as a M.S. of Biochemistry or a B.S. of Analytical Chemistry. I also have some knowledge about Chinese Medicines and Petroleum Chemistry (or Organic Geochemistry). Please see the following background description. The jobs I would be interested in are cell culturing, protein purification, purification and identification of natural compounds with medical uses. My ideal job would be combine my knowledge of Chinese Medicines and the Biological Sciences. I would like to work at or around Purdue University which is in West Lafayette, Indiana. If you are interested in offering me a job, please contact me at the following address: P. O. Box 581, Notre Dame, IN 46556. Thank you for your attention. Zhucheng Yang P.S. This account (st402578) will be closed on May 29, 1991. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Biochemistry Background: During my study here at Brown, I have been working on cell culturing, enzyme purification, synthesis of enzyme inactivator and substrates, enzyme kinetic study, C-13 NMR investigation of inactivated enzyme by C-13 labelled inactivator. Come to the instruments, I have been using UV-Visible spectrometers, proton NMR and C-13 NMR spectrometer, HPLC, TLC, Silica gel chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, Ultra centrifugation, SDS-PAGE, GC-MS. Familiar with Hewlett Packard computer program for UV-Vis spectra analysis. Frequent user of Word and Chemdraw computer programs. M.S. Thesis: The Inactivation Mechanism of Zoogloea ramigera Thiolase by 2-Fluoro-acetyl-dithio-CoA. --Analytical Chemistry and Chinese Herb Medicine Background: My major in undergradaute program is Instrumental Analytical Chemistry. The classes I had taken during my undergrad. study included the following areas: Chromatography, Mass spectrometry, Atomic Absorbance and Emission spectrometry, Molecular Absorbance and Emission spectrometry, wet quantitative and qualitative analysis. Strong Mathematics and Physics background. During my last year in my undergrad. program, I had access to the Chinese Medicine literatures. I also gained a profound knowledge of the active ingrediants of the medicines and their molecular structures. B.S. Thesis: The Seperation and Determination of the Composition of Safflower Extract---a Chinese Herb Medicine. --Petroleum Chemistry Background: I had been studying Organic Geochemistry for one and a half years.
