From: <elliston@biovax.rutgers.edu> ================================================================================ Biochemistry & Microbiology Lipman Hall Cook College Rutgers University New Brunswick, NJ 08903 To All Cellulase, Chitinase and Amylase Researchers: We are in the process of analyzing all the currently available cloned cellulase genes. We are anxious to include all available sequences, and have compiled all of the entries in the EMBL database (release 13). However, as there has been a large amount of activity in this field of research, we realize that many cellulase sequences have not been published or entered into this database. Thus, we request that you submit any cellulase sequences (DNA, RNA or protein) that you may have ready for publication, so that we may include them in our analysis. We have been analyzing the available cellulase (exo- and endo-glucanases and beta-glucosidases) sequences at both the DNA and protein levels in an attempt to define both the gene structure and the proteins functional structures. This analysis will be published as a review of the available data on cellulases, with emphasis on the structure and evolution of these cellulases. We would appreciate your cooperation, and request that you send your data via Bitnet/netnorth/earn or arpanet to: Bitnet: ELLISTON@BIOVAX Arpanet: ELLISTON@biovax.rutgers.edu If you do not have access to these networks, please send your data in computer readable form (a floppy disk is preferred) to: Keith O. Elliston Waksman Institute of Microbiology Box 759 Rutgers University Piscataway, NJ 08855 U.S.A. Please be sure to include any references and citations that may be necessary. A copy of the review, and all the available data will be made available to you, upon request. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Douglas E.
