Microsoft .obj files use a format based on Intel's, with a few extensions. If you get the Intel documentation, it should tell you most of what you need to know for most applications (though of course the Microsoft extensions and changes won't be there). It's a starting point, anyway. -- -Bernie Roehl (University of Waterloo) ...decvax!allegra!watmath!watrose!wateng!broehl

Does anyone know where I can get a full definition (at the bit-bashing level) of the .OBJ files used on MS-DOS/PC-DOS? I need this because I am writing a compiler for the PC. Is the information proprietary or freely available? Do Microsoft sell a manual with it in? All answers gratefully received.... Bob Eager University of Kent UK

Microsoft has an independent software vendors support program that will supply that kind of information. Call (206) 828-8080 for info. -- ______ Russ Herman / \ {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!aesat!rwh @( ? ? )@ (416) 821-9190 ( || ) AES Data Inc. ( \__/ ) 1900 Minnesota Ct. \____/ Mississauga, Ont.
