lasky@NET.BIO.NET (Stephen Lasky) (07/14/89)
Sorry if part of this message was sent; I hit a key that wasn't recognized by the computer. I would like to know if it is possible to get the sequences for a couple of hormone receptors that have been submitted to genbank but which are apparently not in the newest release, at least a findseq search does not reveal them. The sequences are for the mRNA for the vitamin D receptor (ref. Baker et al. PNAS 85, pp3294-3298, 1988), the genomic sequence for the vitamin D receptor (ref. Hughes et al. Science 242, pp1702-1705, 1988), and the bFGF receptor (ref Lee et al., Science 245, pp57-59, 1989, and an Oncogene article, the specifics of which I don't have handy). I know that it may not be possible to get these sequences before they are available in an official genbank release, but since my only access to genbank at the present time is through bionet, I'm afraid that they won't be out before bionet is gone (if it goes.. I still have some hope). Therefore, if they are available, they can be forwarded to my bionet address which I believe is lasky@net.bio.net, or by hard copy to SR lasky, Roger Williams General Hospital, 825 Chalkstone Ave., Providence RI 02908. Either way, please let me know if you have a chance. Thanks srLASKY **********
