We occasionally get bounced mail from our FASTA and retrieval servers which does not go back to the sender because the address format on the "From" line in the mail header does not follow standard conventions. For example, your correct address may be "user@computer.inst.edu", but if your mail program only puts "user@computer" on the From line of your mail, you will not receive a reply from us. BITNET addresses should have a .bitnet extension on the From line, e.g., "user@computer.bitnet". It is impossible for us to track these problems down at our end. If you try to use our servers and don't receive a reply, send a message to yourself, look at the mail header information, and then please contact your local systems administrator if you encounter the problem above. Thanks!
