From: Dan Davison <GOAD.DAVISON@BIONET-20.ARPA> Some of you may recall from the Workshop that Bob Boelander of the U of Washington proposed that an "abstract reader" be written for the IBM PC and compatibles. It would accept a list of 10 or 20 words and as you read MedLine abstracts (or whatever) those words would be highlighted on the screen with reverse video or color or whatever. For those of you who remember the IRX system of Dennis Benson & the NLM, it would behave in a similar manner for highlighting keywords. I have been perusing code from various memory-resident utilities in PC magazine, and think this could actually be done. Now, what I'd like to know: 1)how many of you would be interested in such a program? 2) Does anyone have a legal copy of the Microsoft Assembler (MASM) later than ver. 2.0 to donate for this project? (I'm not interested in pirate copies, thanks anyway) Please send your comments to me, NOT the mailing list (unless you want everyone to see your reply)). I'm primarily interested in (1), since MASM 2.0 may well suffice for this project. Dan Davison ->>> dd@lanl.gov <<<- -------
