[bionet.molbio.bio-matrix] Welcome to new subscribers & two requests

GOAD.DAVISON@BIONET-20.ARPA (02/23/88)

From: Dan Davison <GOAD.DAVISON@BIONET-20.ARPA>

The Matrix of Biological Knowledge bulletin board now has some 50 direct
subscribers, plus redistribution through the Unix-based USENET and SEQNET
in Britian. We've added 7 subscribers just in the last few weeks.

There have been some minor but annoying problems with the mailer which
should now be resolved. If you know of someone who *should* be getting
this list and isn't, please let bio-matrix-request@bionet-20.arpa know.

If you would like to get the past postings of this list (from September-
December 1987), send mail to goad.davison@bionet-20.arpa or
bio-matrix-request@bionet-20.arpa and I'll forward the file to you. It's
fairly small, less than 50Kb.

The mailing list maintainer would again like to request that readers of
this list send your physical mail addresses in as soon as possible. We
want this information chiefly for reporting to the NIH and other organizations
supporting the Matrix concept. If you don't want your name used, please
say so; what we want to convey is the broad range of readership of this list.
Under most circumstances only insitutional affiliation will be used.

Having a physical mail-mailing list will also allow us to send you
announcements about Matrix activities, such as meetings. [ As far as I
know no meetings are being planned.]

You are also reminded that this list is for *you* to discuss the
integration of information retrieval, knowledge bases, and data bases
as they affect the biological sciences. Send your thoughts and comments
to
	BIO-MATRIX@BIONET-20.ARPA
and they will be automagically relayed to all readers of this list.

Administrivia and all other matters should be sent to
	BIO-MATRIX-REQUEST@BIONET-20.ARPA
