From: dbd%benden@LANL.GOV (Dan Davison) *************************************************************************** Address postings to BIO-MATRIX@BIONET-20.ARPA Administrivia (subscription start/stop requests) to BIO-MATRIX-REQUEST@BIONET-20.ARPA *************************************************************************** I have been trying to set up an archive-server at benden.lanl.gov. This is a program that would keep a set of up-to-date Matrix postings and information, and interested parties on the Internet and possibly Usenet could get them via regular RFC822 mail. The program is apparently working, but of course since it's on my machine I can't really tell. So, I would like to request that Matrix readers give it a try and let me know what happens. Send the single line Subject: help to archive-server%benden@lanl.gov and a copy to me (dd@lanl.gov). If your mailer normally inserts a Subject: line for you, just putting the word "help" on it (either upper or lower case) is enough. If your mailer does not include subject lines, just put the word "help" by itself in the body of the message after a blank line. It would look like this: <blank line> help <end of message> If you are on BITNET, please also give it a try. I *think* I have hooked the archive-server up to the LANL mail system so that just about any network could use it, but I don't know. I also am not sure whether it will handle international e-mail properly. After the testing period, there will be three files available: 87matrix. (note the "."--1987 BIO-MATRIX postings) 88matrix. (note the "."--1988 BIO-MATRIX postings, reasonably current draft.matrixreport (draft version of the Workshop on the Matrix of Biological Knowledge Report).
