Subject: How can CS help biologists

Dave,

I appreciate your notes on the Bio-matrix network. You ask for
a response from biologists. I am a physician who has been doing DNA
sequence analysis for 4 years. CS tries to deliver too much. There are
many very simple tasks that need to be done. When we set our sights on
complicated tasks, we loose track of reliability, dependability, accuracy,
and validity. Biologists are taught to be suspicious and to not depend
on something that might be wrong.
