[net.micro] Terminals

On the subject of inexpensive terminals, I also just got a Qume QT-102
from Priority 1 at the remarkable price of just $469. I think that this
is about the best terminal deal that I have seen. The only problem with
the thing is the lousy beep that it makes for a bell. Oh well, nothing
is perfect.

FLAME: This should have been posted to net.info-terms!

Constructive advice: try putting a 10k ohm resister between the beeper and
the keyboard (spliced into the red wire). This takes all of three minutes,
and cuts the volume by about half and seems to lower the pitch as well.
Without this, that %*#!@ beeper sounds like fingernails on a blackboard.
This, of course, will work for many other terminals beside the qvt102.

The real problem with the qvt102 (in my opinion) is the silly embeded
attributes. But then tvi950`s do the same thing at twice the price.
As the qvt102 is 98% the same as a tvi950, it certainly counts as one
of the best terminal deals around.
