PLEASE! Since net.games already exists in its own right, please move any discussion to that list. The volume is already overwhelming with alot of other material that should have been spun off a long time ago into separate lists (at least on the Internet side), especially material related to a specific micro long after it has been on the market (namely ALL the C64 material). Now, any volunteers to pick up sponsorship and maintenance of an INFO-COMMODORE? While I'm on the subject (of redirecting mail): net.wanted and net.for-sale is where to send such messages. Those newsgroups are not redirected to an equivalent list on the Internet. Because net.micro and some others are considered synonymous with INFO-MICRO on the Internet side, we ask that our valued USENET contributors be aware of and abide by the restrictions imposed on the Internet side. Namely, the use of a government sponsored/owned resources for personal gain is illegal. We do not wish to see an official request to sever our connection or shut down the Internet side of this list because of such messages. Your cooperation is appreciated! --Frank

From: Hugh Dempsey (USAFAS) <hugh@BRL-BMD.ARPA> While government facilities are not to be used for personal gain, there is precedent for advertising items by individuals. See your local daily or weekly bulletin for examples. There is an unofficial section, which lists many items for sale by individuals. I suggest that an official position be solidified allowing this in the same limited degree allowed in the official bulletins. Besides being good for the community, it will forestall some officious bureaucrat from trying to cut off the internet from the usenet, because it violates his opinion (rather than violating a regulation).(Most of my problems with this type occur because the jerk is trying to enforce his or her opinion and really doesn't know the regulation that is supposedly being enforced.) If we all know the ground rules, and provision is made for errors (as distinct from violations) we shouldn't have any problems. hugh
