I would like to upgrade the MH mail system on our machines and need to find out what the proper source is. Our equipment vendor is no help. We CAN NOT FTP anything unless someone is willing to give us a phone number and authorization for a SLIP connection. UUCP is faster. > >Is there a mail server around for > >it or an address I can send some money and a tape to? I am willing to UUCP the distribution at my cost and make 9-track 1600 bpi tapes or QIC-24 cartridge tapes for other people in my situation. Isn't there anyone out there who is willing (or able) to help those of us who aren't on Internet? Please? -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Daryl V. I don't believe I said that ... (sorry people) MH 6.6 is available from our site via anonymous uucp. Take a copy of ncc!~ftp/misc/mh-6.6.tar.Z. Your L.sys info is: ncc Any ACU 2400 14034250342 ogin:--ogin: nuucp or if you have a Trailblazer: ncc Any ACU 19200 14034250342;s50=255;s111=30;d ogin:--ogin: nuucp Note that for a 'blazer connection to work you MUST set register 111 to 30 on your end. The compressed tar archive is 1747573 bytes. --

If you already have MH, you'll find a file called COVER-LETTER in the
top-level directory which describes how to obtain new versions of MH
via FTP or magnetic tape. If you don't already have MH, here's a copy
of the relevant section:
There are two ways to get a distribution:
1. If you can FTP to the ARPA Internet, use anonymous FTP to
louie.udel.edu [10.0.0.96] and retrieve the file portal/mh-6.tar.
This is a tar image (approx 4MB). The file portal/mh-6.tar.C is
the tar image after being run through the compact program (approx
2.3MB). The file portal/mh-6.tar.Z is the tar image after being run
through the compress program (approx 1.5MB).
2. You can send $75 to the address below. This covers the cost of
a magtape, handling, and shipping. In addition, you'll get a
laser-printed hard-copy of the entire MH documentation set. Be sure
to include your USPS address with your check. Checks should be made
payable to
Regents of the University of California
and must be drawn on U.S. funds. It's also a good idea (though not
mandatory) to send a computer mail message to "Bug-MH@ICS.UCI.EDU" when
you send your check via USPS to ensure minimal turn-around time.
The distribution address is:
Support Group
Attn: MH distribution
Department of Information and Computer Science
University of California, Irvine
Irvine, CA 92717
714/856-7553
Sadly, if you just want the hard-copies of the documentation, you
still have to pay the $75.00. The tar image has the documentation
source (the manual is in roff format, but the rest are in TeX
format).
Since this document was written, MH 6.6 has been made available. The
filenames on louie.udel.edu are different but in the same place. As
you've seen here recently, MH 6.6 is also available via anonymous FTP
from other sites.
