(Note that this does not really have anything to do with the recent discussion of what is RFC822-legal in In-Reply-To headers.) I want my `In-Reply-To' headers to say "John Doe's message of ..." if possible, or "doe@foo.bar.com's message of ..." if possible, or as a last resort the old "Your message of ...". I've been trying to get my replcomps right to do this, but for some reason it's always using the second form (address of the sender). The mh-format(5) manpage is not overly descriptive of anything, and I don't really understand all of it. Could someone please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Also, does anyone have any more specific descriptions of the various address-formatting functions (what `friendly' means, etc.)? Thanks. The pertinent part of my replcomps follows. %<{date}In-reply-to: \ %<{pers}%{pers}'s%|%<{from}%(friendly {from})'s%|\ %<{sender}%(friendly {sender})'s%|Your%>%>%> \ message of %<(nodate{date}){date}%|%(pretty{date})%>.\n%> Roland McGrath Roland McGrath roland@wheaties.ai.mit.edu, mit-eddie!wheaties.ai.mit.edu!roland
