I just got MH and popd (6.6) up up on a Sun (SunOS 3.2) and am running the Mac/MH client (1.0). It works more or less, but I'm having problems with "Get All New Mail" apparently when I have more than one message in /usr/spool... I seem to either get all the messages sucked in as one huge item of mail, or (most of the time) Mac/MH just hangs. Checking mailbox, sending mail, whois, Telnet & FTP are all working fine. MH on the Sun host works fine. When MacMH hangs, it is after asking for my user password and after what seems to be a couple of local disk accesses on my Mac at the "Connecting to Server..." prompt. A couple of questions: 1) Any ideas on how I might have configured or installed anything incorrectly? 2) Any way to get out of MacMH when it hangs, short of rebooting? Thanks, David

I seem to either get all the >messages sucked in as one huge item of mail, or (most of the time) read mh-6.6/uip/slocal.c about piping your mail to uip/slocal program to put incoming mail into the mailbox with POP format. This should have been documented in ADMIN.doc or something. >Mac/MH just hangs. Checking mailbox, sending mail, whois, Telnet & >FTP are all working fine. MH on the Sun host works fine. MacMH1.04 has known bug that it crashes on receiving certain kind of msg. This has been fixed in the latest MacMH(1.07). I'll send you a binhexed version of macmh1.07 in separate mail. Andy

Thanks Andy! The combination of piping incoming mail through slocal and the newer MacMH did the trick. david
