[comp.mail.mh] alias file usage

jromine@paris.ics.uci.edu (John Romine) (03/16/90)

Is anyone using the alias file syntax:

	alias ; address-group

I believe this was useful when there was only a system-wide alias
file, but putting local aliases in headers isn't a good idea -- they
won't be replyable.

I'd like to use this syntax for a different function. If you're
using it the way it is now, please let me know at bug-mh@ics.uci.edu
(ucbvax!ucivax!bug-mh).

It's still useful if I could only get the little bugger to work. It
serves the purpose of having a private, often large, alias list that
doesn't get expanded. True, it would be nice if repl were more graceful
about the bad address...
