[comp.mail.mh] problem with sortm in mh-6.7

Yes, I'm running MH 6.7 on Sun OS 4.0.3 now.

What does "doesn't do anything" mean, exactly?  Are you starting with
a folder which is ordered already?  Sortm no longer gratuitously
compresses folders; the man page describes this.  What configuration
options did you use?  Can you send the output of "sortm -help"?

  Thanks to John (jromine@ics.uci.edu), the problem is 
solved.

  User needs to get rid of the "holes" in the folder
before using sortm by doing "folder -pack".  sortm works
perfectly if there is no "holes" in the folder.
