I'm writing a book on MH 6.7 and xmh R4 for the O'Reilly Nutshell Handbook series. It goes into a lot of depth. I'm reviewing the second draft now, and I think it needs more good examples of changing/improving xmh. Example: an accelerator for XmhComposeMessage() is a great time-saver. Have you made some xmh (R4) hacks/fixes that you've used for a while and still think are really useful? (I mean hacks for accelerators, menus and so on--not raw source code.) If you have--and you wouldn't mind having them published, also made available for anonymous ftp--please mail them to me. (BTW, I'd be glad to send copies of what I get to anyone who asks.) The draft goes to reviewers this month, so I need the hacks by **July 17th.** Please only send stuff that's public-domain. (All or almost all of the code in this book will be.) If you didn't write it, tell me where you got it--so I can get in touch with the author. I'd give you credit by publishing your name along with code I use. (I can't promise that your code will go into the book; that depends on what I get and what I decide.) I wish I'd had more time to keep up better with USENET... if this has already been discussed, I'd sure appreciate pointers to old articles, archives, etc. Thanks a lot. --Jerry Peek; Syracuse University Academic Computing Services; Syracuse, NY jdpeek@rodan.acs.syr.edu, JDPEEK@SUNRISE.BITNET +1 315 443-3995
