[comp.mail.mh] Bcc/sendmail interaction

dhesi%cirrusl@oliveb.ATC.olivetti.com (Rahul Dhesi) (08/02/90)

I find that with MH 6.6, use of Bcc: headers results in sendmail being
supplied a message with no To: header. Sendmail then includes an
Apparently-To: header for the Bcc'd recipients. The result is that
the confidentiality of the Bcc header is partly lost -- each Bcc'd
recipient knows who the other Bcc'd recipients are.

Is this fixed in a later version? Is there a simple fix or
work-around?

Configuration output from comp -help is:

version: MH 6.6 #1[UCI] (ics) of Tue May 24 15:51:53 PDT 1988
options: [BSD42] [BERK] [TTYD] [MHE] [NETWORK] [BIND] [RPATHS]
         [SBACKUP='"#"'] [FOLDPROT='"0700"'] [MSGPROT='"0600"'] [MHRC]
         [MORE='"/user/bin/less"'] [OVERHEAD] [UCI] [UK] [NEED_FCNTL]
         [SENDMTS] [SMTP]
