The MH 6.7 changes document says that:
scan With the `-file msgbox' switch, scan can list a
packf'd-format file directly (without using msh).
And it works great for things like checking the incoming mail.
But it also seems to check the current folder -- and only work if the
current folder has some messages in it:
% folder
HANDLE+ has no messages.
% scan -file /usr/spool/mail/jdpeek
scan: no messages in HANDLE
% folder +inbox
inbox+ has 27 messages ( 1- 36); (others).
% scan -file /usr/spool/mail/jdpeek

Is that a feature or a bug?
