I am working on a IBM-PC/XT with half a meg of memory and am writing some C hack using the C86 optimizing compiler. We are running DOS2.0 and I would like to know if anyone out there in net-land has a MAKE command for the PC. It is a real hassle trying to keep track of dozens of source files and headers by hand or by head. I sorely miss the MAKE command on real operating systems (e.g. UNIX) Please respond directly or via net. Thanks y'all. allegra!princeton!eosp1!byron <bh>

From: Walt Lamia <LAMIA@DEC-MARLBORO.ARPA> Yes, there is a MAKE that was written in CI "C" for MSDOS on the DEC Rainbow by Larry Campbell (credit where credit is due). It is available on DEC-MARLBORO.ARPA, and I think that it was placed on SIMTEL20, but I'm not sure where it might be there. It is written to be fairly portable, and is for generic MSDOS. %Walt -------
