[comp.mail.mh] Prevent send/post from rewriting uucp addresses?

marvit@HPLPM.HPL.HP.COM (Peter Marvit) (01/29/91)

Currently, MH rewrites most addresses to be RFC-822 conformant. Fine.
However, I would like it to leave UUCP address in their bang format
(a!b!c) rather than changing them into the bogus .uucp domain
(b!c@a.UUCP) which makes an awful mixed mode address. I think the BERK
option will avoid the uucp problem, but will disable domain-style
rewriting (which I like).

Any way to prevent UUCP address rewrites? Hacks/patches to source are
welcome. Pointers to the appropriate manual page are too, although I
will be severely embarrassed!

My config currently:

version: MH 6.7 #1[UCI] (hplpm) of Wed Apr 25 18:27:50 PDT 1990
options: [ATHENA] [ATZ] [BIND] [ISI] [MHE] [MHRC]
         [MORE='"/usr/bin/more"'] [NDIR] [NFS] [OVERHEAD] [RPATHS]
         [SENDMAILBUG] [SOCKETS] [SYS5] [TZNAME] [WHATNOW]
         [SBACKUP='"#"'] [SPRINTFTYPE=int] [SENDMTS] [SMTP]

Cheers,

Peter
