BACKGROUND When mail is incorporated into xmh, the first of the new messages incorporated is displayed at the _bottom_ of the table of contents (TOC) with a + sign next to it, if the TOC is already full. Any further messages are actually off the screen, and must be scrolled to. If however, the size of the TOC does not suit the font being used, there is a considerable amount of blank space at the bottom, since the next line will not fit. PROBLEM This blank space makes some users think that there is no more mail to be read, and they do not read it! The scrollbar also appears very close to the bottom, so there are no obvious indications that there are more messages available. QUESTION Is is possible to arrange that the first new message is at the _top_ of the TOC, with all subsequent messages below it ? Are there any other solutions to this problem ?? Thanks in advance, Geoff
