I've been having problems with mail getting mutilated in XMH. The symptoms are that a long line of nulls appears in the reader and part of the message body is missing. There isn't necessarily a corrspondance between the number of nulls and the missing parts. The crazy thing is that using the lower scroll bar to bounce back and forth will occasionally cause some of the missing characters to appear (and if I keep doing it, disappear). The source file is OK, but killing and restarting XMH has it screwing up the message at the same place (about 10K in). The particular message that has it now is a long digest. I have noticed several other messages in the past that may have been the same problem (I thought they were corrupted by the mailer. Got a problem? Blame the mailer! :-) So my questions are: Are other folks experiencing this in XMH? Or possibly some other textwidget-based tool? Have you a fix? (I'm running through patchlevel 18 of MIT, so they don't have one. Maybe in R5?). Platform is SparcStation2, SunOS 4.1.1 using X11R4 PL18. Just doing a history check before I dive in to find what's happening. If I find anything, I'll send it to xbugs. Any clues are appreciated.
