From: Joe Pistritto <jcp@BRL-TGR.ARPA> I just got a neat peripheral for my TI-99 that sounds like a Real Deal! Its a CorComp 9900 Micro-Expansion System, with: 1 RS-232 port (standard) 1 RS-232 port (option add, i think just chips...) 1 Parrallel port (with a cable, should drive Centronics printer) (standard) Diskette drive adapter (option, requires expansion board) The basic device, which includes power supply, housing, and RS-232/ parrallel interface, is available for $149 at my local Hallmark book/card store!?! It plugs in to the right side of the console, on the CRU connector. It says something about the diskette adapter also include 32K of CRU memory as well. All of this in a little neat box about 5 inches wide and half the console's depth. There is also a CRU expansion port on the far side in case you have the speech adapter. I have tested the RS-232 port, (which has an indicator light on the front, along with lites marked 'Power', '32K ram', and 'Dsk SYS'. I had bought the TI when they went to $50, and not touched it since then, until I saw this thing. Looks like you can turn it in to a Real Serious Computer... I'd like to know if anyone knows anything about this, or the company that makes it, etc.? Reply directly to me, I will summarize and post to the net if there are a lot of responses. -Joe Pistritto-
