Today I called the Computer and Information Science Department at
the University of Oregon in Eugene, and asked about CIS Technical
Report 90-02, the "Revised ** 4" report on Scheme. I have seen the
"R4" report cited in journals, so I hoped it would be available.
The person I talked with said she had recently asked Will Clinger
about it, and had been told that it would be out "in the fall". She
was willing to put my name on a list of people to whom copies would be
mailed once it was available. She said that she thought the report
would be out in October or November, but if I hadn't heard anything by
the end of 1990, I should definitely give her another call.
I haven't seen any mention of late "R ** n" reports here for a
while, and I have been looking for something more recent than "R3", so
I thought I would post what I learned.
(I think I recall that "R3.99" is available for FTP from an MIT
site, but I don't have FTP access and so cannot check. Does anybody
know how I might get a printed copy of it?)
