[comp.lang.scheme] IEEE Draft Staodard

manis@cs.ubc.ca (Vincent Manis) (09/25/90)

I was recently attempting to get a copy of the IEEE draft standard for
Scheme. I know that things of this sort are kept on zurich.ai.mit.edu,
but all my efforts to log in on zurich have met with failure. There
always seem to be too many anonymous users (even at 11pm PDT = 2am EDT).
I must have tried twenty or thirty times at various times of the day.

So: can anybody give me another site from which I can ftp it?
Alternatively, some indication as to how I could get onto zurich would
be fine.

*Please* don't simply mail the standard to me. My experience with
requests of this sort is that either nobody responds at all, or
alternatively one gets megabytes of the same file over and over again.

Thanx for your help.

If you can reach MIT via FTP and have TeX (or at least the ability to print
dvi files), you can get a copy of the current draft Scheme standard from:

	host:	altdorf.ai.mit.edu (18.43.0.246)

	user:	anonymous (any password)

	files: (pick one)
		archive/scheme-reports/p1178d4.dvi
		archive/scheme-reports/p1178d4.dvi.Z
		archive/scheme-reports/p1178d4.tar
		archive/scheme-reports/p1178d4.tar.Z
(a postscript version should be available soon as well)

Otherwise, please email me your hard mail address and I'll mail you a
printed copy.

Chris Haynes
