A new version of scm, scm1-2, is available.  I/O bugs have been fixed
and error reporting is improved.  MIPS machines are now supported.
Test.scm now tests input and output functions.

This directory contains the distribution version 1-2 of scm.  Scm
conforms to Revised^3.99 Report on the Algorithmic Language Scheme
[Draft August 31, 1989] and the IEEE spec.  Scm runs under Unix, VMS,
and Microsoft C on IBM PCs.
  The file `scm1-2.exe' is an IBM PC executable of scm.
  `scm1-2.shar' is a shar file of the C code distribution.
  `scm1-2.tar.Z' is a compressed tar file of the C code distribution.
  `test.scm' is Scheme code which tests conformity with the IEEE spec.
	It is included in the shar and tar files.
  `jacal0-2.shar' or
  `jacal0-2.tar.Z' is a symbolic algebra system which runs in scheme or
	common-lisp.  This is a pre-release version.  Feel free to try
	it.  Feel free to contribute code or documentation.
