Machine:	4D/70g with SCSI cartridge tape drive

Problem:	Tar times out too quickly while waiting for tape drive to rewind

Repeat by:	Write enough data on the tape so that it takes ~45 seconds to
		rewind, then issue the command:

			tar c data; tar t

		As soon as the first tar command finishes, the tape begins
		rewinding, and the second tar starts running.  The second tar
		has to wait for the tape to finish rewinding, but it seems to
		give up after ~30 seconds with the message:

			tar: cannot open /dev/tape
