In response to Rion Cassidy's problems: We have 8 IRISes (a mixture of 2400, 2400T, 3020, 3120, 3130) and have experienced very little down time due to the type problems he is experiencing. Only once have we had disk drive problems (also on a 3120) where we continually reformatted and rebuilt the system in an attempt to solve the problem. The final solution was a new disk controller, not a new drive. About 8 months ago we did experience a rash of problems across several machines. When the smoke cleared, we decided to leave the machines running all the time instead of powering them down each night. This seems to help MTBF significantly. Other than that, we haven't experienced the problems with the hardware he has. Barry Webb Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company - Georgia bwebb@gelac.arpa
