(1) When the Iris 3030 first boots up, a really beautiful font appears on the console screen. This is replaced fairly early in the booting procedure by "iris10.fnt". The original font does not appear in /usr/lib/gl2/fonts, and I imagine it's defined in the hardware. Does anyone know of a way of re-loading it? (2) Is there a function I can call from a program which will cause the Iris console to exit mex? I have a program that needs mex to run, and I would like it to call ismex() at the beginning, start up mex, run, and then if the user wasn't in mex at the beginning, exit mex. At the moment I have to leave it to the user to exit mex, because I can't figure out a way to make the program do it. (3) We are running version GL2-W3.6 on our Iris 3030 and have the same version of Unipress Emacs. When I try to run Emacs from the console and when not in mex, Emacs seems to think my screen is much bigger than it actually is. When my font is default.fnt, the top of my screen displays the middle of line 14, and there is no way of windowing back to the first 13 lines. The smaller the font I use, the greater the number of hidden lines. The "-L" option doesn't seem to do anything; and "set-screen-lines" doesn't help, because it causes the screen to be truncated at the bottom rather than at the top! I have no problem whatever when using emacs from within mex, or from a remote terminal. Has anyone out there encountered a similar problem, or have an idea how I might fix it?
