[net.micro] Okidata 93s hooked to a C.Itoh CIT-101e terminal...Help!!!

ABN.COSCOM-CE@USC-ISID.ARPA (08/01/84)

Hello Netlanders,

This may be the wrong forum to use for this question but hopefully
someone out there can help or direct me to a more appropo net group.

I have a new C.Itoh CIT-101e terminal. It emulates both VT52 and VT100
command sequences. I have hooked up an Okidata 93s printer to the
bidirectional serial port. I am running all ports at 1200 Baud. I can't
seem to find the right set up or right VT100 command sequence to get the
printer to work. The cable and equipment has been checked out and seems
fine.

Can anyone help me with the switch setting for the equipment or with the
VT100 command sequence? I have been working for hours on this, Help!!

 ^Q to unlock I/F.
With hardware handshake make sure DTR and DCD are high as required by
CIT-101e(see manual for required lines). Check Okidata for RS-232 pinout.
Some printers do not raise the right RS-232 line, and the cable must be rewired
to make the terminal happy. The largest problem I have seen is a printer
with hardware handshake and the terminal with X/on X/off handshake. Some
characters are lost because the X/off signal is not fast enough to respond to
the hardware signal.

					good luck

According to my manual for a CIT 101, Ctrl-PF4 will activate the
bidirectional port and Shift-PF4 will deactivate the port.
