I just finished upgrading our 4D/70GT to 3.2; installation went okay, although the documentation leaves much to be desired. Now, its time to restore our user files...... Lo and behold ! The new release can't read/write multiple volumes on the VME QIC-02 cartridge tape anymore !! I have no idea why SGI would break something as fundamental as this. We've been doing multiple-volume backups/restores on our 4D/70 using the VME QIC-02 under 3.1 for over a year, and it worked fine. Anyone have any idea how I'm going to restore my users files ?? Any help is appreciated. AWF -- Internet: adam@ncifcrf.gov Adam W. Feigin UUCP: {backbonz}!ncifcrf!adam Senior Systems Manager Mail: P.O. You can e-mail them to me and I'll pass them on to our Tech Pubs group or you can fill out the customer feedback cards supplied in the documents. Our Tech Pubs people are fairly conciencous and are concerned about improving the quality of the documentation. Thanks. --- David Ciemiewicz
