We have an old SGI 2500 that has been sick for several months (runs fine for days, then corrupts its filesystems and/or crashs), but now has died & won't boot. The halt light is on and the status display is "7". Pressing the reset button causes the status to go to "0" momentarily and then immediately back to "7" - nothing is displayed on the console and the halt light remains on. Does anyone know what the problem is, or the meaning of the status display numbers? I can find nothing in the manuals about this display. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
