[comp.sys.sgi] Service Testimonial Time?

We at BRL have been very satisfied with SGI's field support.  Our main
serviceman is Dave Dabay, and he is top-notch.  More skilled than many
of the hardware developers, well versed in diagnostic technique,
as well as intimately familiar with the details of the entire SGI product
line.

My observation has been that SGI service has a bi-modal distribution.
Either it is very good, or it is poor.  I can offer no explanation, but
I'm glad that our experience has been very good.

The local SGI sales organization is of ordinary quality.

Two remaining challenges for SGI:  Infant mortality of H/W, and
obnoxious wrinkles in the software.  Both are getting to be smaller problems
as time goes by.  But, both still continue to pain me regularly.  Oh well.

speed and power is exhilarating, but you occasionally get hit by a blob
of mud."
