Troy Norcross, the SGI SE from Indianapolis, sent me a tape with an apropos that really works, unlike the one on the net recently. It is from SGI from Benoit Marchand, Silicon Graphics (Montreal). I put it in the pub directory on vgr.brl.mil (192.5.23.6) in compressed tar format. It has an apropos list for standard software, NFS, Fortran, DWB and LPS for release 3.2 of IRIX. Creating the list takes about half an hour since it has to pcat every man page in the system. If you have local man pages you should be able to figure out how to add just these without rebuilding everything again. One word of caution, the program only looks for files that end in .z (pack format) so make sure your local man pages are packed and have a .z.
