Would there be any interest in a "Product Review" newsgroup? I thinking of a group where two basic types of messages could be posted: A) I just bought a "XXX" and I think it's _____. -or- B) I'm thinking of buying a "ZZZ" does anybody have any recommendations. I would like the reviews to be NOT limited to computer related items. Instead, all household, garden, automotive, etc. In otherwords everything that comes to mind. I know that product "advertising" has been discussed on the net before, so it might get touchy if a producer of a product tried to "hype" his own stuff. (Although I personally wouldn't mind if they REPLIED to a query.) What do you think net-land?? Is there enough interest? What would a good name be? Most of the names I can think of are far too long (I don't want to TYPE that many characters!) "net.review" might be good, but I wish it said something about being "product" related. I'd rather see the reviews posted where I will only have to read them if they're in an area of my interest. GREG {ucbvax!hplabs | allegra!nbires | decvax!brl-bmd | harpo!seismo | menlo70} !hao!woods

I think a product review group is a great idea. That would free up some of the other groups for more interesting articles, and also provide a "one-stop shopping service" for netland. We'd know where to go to ask. So count this as one vote (or two, if you count my husband) for net.consumers. joanne
