The January 84 issue of IEEE Spectrum contains a short article about the current state of microprocessors (pages 50-52). One of the chips they mention is a microcontroller from Rockwell that can operate as two parallel processors. The chip was introduced in June 83. The chip is based on the 6502 architecture and was designed to provide fast handling of asynchronous events. It has one set of registers that are shared by both CPUs. Has anybody seen the specs for this chip ? What I really need is the Rockwell part number that Spectrum was "kind" enough to omit from the article.
