[comp.sys.sgi] Request: animate a collection of 3-D points over time

peter%cardinal@LANL.GOV ("Peter S. Ford") (07/20/90)

Does anyone have a program for displaying the motion of particles
over time? We have two applications which could make use of such
a program: 1) a particle tracer for 3-D hydrodynamics 2) tracing molecules
in a Molecular Dynamics simulation.

Thanks for any pointers,

You could use GAS (Graphics Animation System) developed at Ames.
We use it to view CFD particle traces as well as other things.
It is a nice piece of software and it is also free (U.S. disemination only).
For infomation on how to get a copy email to pierce@prandtl.nas.nasa.gov
or write:

   (415) 694-4492 or FTS 464-4492

If you have a NAS account it is real easy to get it. You do have to
send him a letter requesting it, but you can fax it to him, if you need
it quickly.
