Is there any interest in forming a net.ditroff group (or possibly net.usoft.ditroff)? For those of us actually trying to make ditroff work on a variety of machines (including those that supposedly work at Bell Labs), a forum for exchanging information would be helpful. Even if you're not interested in such a group, but are working with ditroff or writing ditroff filters for new devices (has anyone other than Brian actually written a new filter in a couple of evenings?), I'd be interested in hearing from you, especially people that have implemented graphics functions (for supporting pic, ideal, and eqn) for devices that don't directly support graphics. Lastly, does anyone else have a Merganthaler Linotron 202 typesetter and a ditroff filter that will work correctly with eqn?

How else are people supposed to know that an divide check in ditroff means that you haven't defined a rule-character? Or that spaces produced by tabs aren't "white-space"... Or that the font descriptions must have widths < 256... We must fend for ourselves. It is important to have a group like this. =lee { allegra or seismo } ! rochester ! lee lee@rochester

I vote *for* a ditroff newsgroup.
