[net.micro] New Kermit for Heath/Zenith-100

SY.FDC%CU20B@COLUMBIA.ARPA (09/21/84)

From: Frank da Cruz <SY.FDC%CU20B@COLUMBIA.ARPA>

This is to announce a release of Columbia University's KERMIT file transfer
and terminal emulation program for MS-DOS systems (Kermit-MS v2.26), adapted
for the Heath/Zenith-100 with ZDOS 1.x (not tested on 2.x systems) by Jim
Knutson of the University of Texas at Austin (knutson@ut-ngp). File
transfer and other protocol features work identically as in other machines
supported by v2.26 (such as the IBM PC & XT, DEC Rainbow, HP-150, Wang PC,
and NEC APC); terminal emulation includes most of the fancy Kermit-MS
features: Heath-19 emulation, session capture, mode line, key redefinition,
and printer control, but not screen rollback. The files for MS-DOS Kermit
2.26 are available via anonymous FTP at hosts COLUMBIA-20 and CU20B as
KER:MS*.*. Those who already have the MS-DOS Kermit files may specify the
new H/Z100 files alone as KER:MS*Z100.*. The file KER:MSZ100.HLP describes
the system-dependent aspects of the H/Z100 implementation of Kermit-MS.
Please note that anonymous FTP access to COLUMBIA-20 is only available after
6:00pm eastern time.
