Howdy fellow netters, Question for those of you experienced with printers: We have an IRIS 4D/85GTB with an HP LaserJet hanging off /dev/ttyd4. I configured the printer with lpadmin and used printer type "dumb". Now whenever a print request is issued with the command, "pr -l60 <file> | lp", the printer begins printing in the middle of the page but continues to format the pages as though it started at the top of the page (ie. there are page breaks and page headers in the middle of pages), and usually won't print the last page until the next print job is sent. Once the next print request is made, the last page of the previous job starts on the beginning of the page, and the new job begins at the end of the old job. Any ideas??? -- * Marc Friedman * The Mitre Corporation * 7525 Colshire Drive * McLean, VA 22102 * M/S W291 * (703) 883-5247 * E-mail: marc@mitre.org *********************************************************************
