Concerning the ditroff group, I dislike the name 'ditroff' as it does not connect to any name or documentation from the manufacturer (Bell). My license reads 'Independent TROFF Text Formatting Program (TROFF)', suggesting the name 'itroff' - the 'I' coming from 'Independent'. Some of the documentation uses the name "Typesetter Independent TROFF" suggesting 'titroff' as the nickname. BUT NOT 'ditroff'. I personally vote for 'itroff', it is derived from the official name, and it is one letter shorter than the other proposals. Pronounced: it-roff. I think the right place is together with other software products - as S from Bell - in net.usoft. So here is a vote for net.usoft.itroff.
