Some systems (SGI 3.3.1) sendmail does NOT use Yellow Pages correctly. In our case, and possibly in yours, the CRrelay entry (where relay=relay host) was the sticker. The machine who is designated as the relay host, MUST appear in the local /etc/hosts file.
