>Oh how appalling! Let me get out my checkbook and send off a few grand to >"Tom's Defense League" at "Lynzies Motherboard". Sure I will! Without >knowing the nature of the message that was left, without knowing if he in >fact did leave it (I assume so, since the bull-board in question is for >subscribers, not public), in fact only knowing that apparently someone >was/wasn't/is being charged with a computer crime involving credit cards. >These are serious charges. For your information, the BBS in question was not a subscriber system (I say "was" becuause its going subscriber on December 1st). That factual error aside I dont blame you for not wanting to send money off to a defense fund you know nothing about. When I posted what I think was the first message on the filing of charges I made a point of leaving out any overt requests for money. I dont know what message you are replying to so I cant comment on how bad it was worded, but if the poster just forwarded the messages that have appeared on Tom's board then I dont blame people in netland for being a bit uneasy about sending money. Lynzie's message did sort of assume you were already convinced Tom was clear and Telco was at fault (an assumption I agree with fully, but then I live in LA, used the board, and have followed the case from the start).
