Although we have a 24bit PI here, running xdpyinfo shows only two 8bit visuals available. Is there a way to make SGI's X11 server recognise a 24bit TrueColor visual? Bernie.

The current SGI X servers do not support 24 bit visuals. They will be supported in some future version of IRIX. We have it working in the lab. No, you can't have a copy now. Stay tuned here for more info on where we are going with X. --Jeff Jeff Weinstein - X Protocol Police Silicon Graphics, Inc., Entry Systems Division, Window Systems jsw@xhead.esd.sgi.com Any opinions expressed above are mine, not sgi's.
