[comp.sys.sgi] Extended precision datatypes

LEONARDZ@VM.UOGUELPH.CA (Len Zaifman) (12/03/90)

We have a 380 & 340 server here , targetted for large scale computational
requirements. A group has asked computing services here to provide :

     extended precision - real*16

     double complex - complex*16(real*8,real*8)

     extended complex - complex*32(real*16,real*16)

as standard data types, along with intinsic function support
in FORTRAN. All of these are available on our IBM mainframe running CMS, and
this capability is required to port some programs over to the SGI systems.
Read as I might, I cannot see support for any of the above on the SGI(we are
running 3.3.1). Is it there and I am missing it ?? Is it comming ?? We need
to know so we can plan the ports.

      Many thanks. Len Zaifman
