Does anyone know of a version of traceroute that compiles and loads on an SGI Personal IRIS that doesn't require the rebuilding of the kernel? If so, could that kind soul please point me at it? Email responses will be just fine. Traceroute (available via anonymous ftp from ftp.ee.lbl.gov) works fine with Irix 3.3.1. It definitely didn't work with stock 3.2. One thing wrong is that it is not there. It really was in many internal, pre-release versions. The kernel changes are in 3.3.1. Trust me. Sigh. Vernon Schryver, vjs@sgi.com

The only problem I have with the sgi /usr/etc/traceroute on 3.3.1 is that it is not there ! Unless it is part of a special distribution, it is not part of the standard 3.3.1 eoe and development or nfs tapes. I was just about to ftp a copy, but if there is an sgi blest version that you feel responsable for, I want that version ! Can you put it on anon ftp on sgi.com so we can get a copy ? Actually, it makes perfect sense to put that utility on anon ftp on the internet, as it is an internet tool...
