Dan Karron@UCBVAX.BERKELEY.EDU (12/16/90)
I just discovered that my sendmail was not working properly because it could not write (!) /etc/passwd. I have a number of messages in my SYSLOG: Dec 15 11:31:42 karron sendmail[6604]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:32:14 karron sendmail[6609]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:35:30 karron sendmail[6616]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:36:50 karron sendmail[6622]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:37:52 karron sendmail[6628]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:43:07 karron sendmail[6636]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 Dec 15 11:44:17 karron sendmail[6644]: mailer error, mailer=ether error=67 After chmod'ing my passwd, my current mail went out ok. Now, I do record my outgoing mail. How can I bulk remail my record file without running through Mail, writting out the messages, makeing new wrappers, and on and on ? This message is also a test to see that my sendmail is truely working... If I see my old messages posted, then I will clearly not need to resend them. See my previous posting about writing passwd. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | karron@nyu.edu (E-mail alias that will always find me) | | Fax: 212 340 7190 * Dan Karron, Research Associate | | . . . . . . . . . . . . . . * New York University Medical Center | | 560 First Avenue \*\ Pager <1> (212) 397 9330 | | New York, New York 10016 \**\ <2> 10896 <3> <your-number-here> | | (212) 340 5210 \***\_________________________________________ | | Main machine: karron.med.nyu.edu (128.122.135.3) IRIS 85GT | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
