Does anyone have TeX prebuilt for the Personal Iris, with dvi previewer? Please let me know if you're out there, and if I can transfer the binary to my machine. Thanks, Ron Cagenello The Lighthouse NY, NY rbc@psych.nyu.edu

I have sent this message to Mr. Cagenello, but it got bounced. A prebuilt TEX with previewer for PI's is available on vgr.brl.mil (192.5.23.6). You can get it by anonymous ftp. The version I got some months ago works fine, excepted for an annoying feature: the dvi2ps does not handle correctly the \special command. A local guru here in Lausanne says that the problem is related to a char instead of a int or viceversa. As I am not a guru, I prefer to wait until the bug is fixed on the prebuilt version on vgr.brl.mil instead of recompiling sources! A complete set of sources that compile and work are indeed available on vgr.brl.mil In addition, I have a binary distribution available for anon FTP on godzilla.cgl.rmit.oz.au (131.170.14.2). It includes a later version of the previewer that will find its way onto vgr when I get a chance to finish of some extra stuff. As usual, the VGR distribution will be source. Most of you will be interested to know that thanks to work by Mark Segal of SGI (ASD), the next release (new year) will be able to display postscript specials together with the TeX stuff. For the curious, it is done by using Ghostscript routines to display the postscript Anyhow, the godzilla binary distribution is the latest public release together with lots of 100dpi fonts.. Mike
